Topaz and Smoky Quartz, with Schorl inclusions, Spitzkopje Area, Karibib District, Erongo Region, Namibia, miniature, 4.4 x 2.7 x 2.1 cm, A fine miniature Topaz-Smoky Quartz-Schorl combination specimen from the famous Klein Spitzkopje area. The 4 cm-tall Topaz is gem-clear and has the prototypical but rare, sharp crystal habit for here. It is complemented very nicely by a 4 cm-tall Smoky Quartz that is equally gemmy and lustrous. Both are included by Schorl needles, which makes for an excellent accent! I have never seen something quite like this, with two different species each included lightly by tourmaline as you see here. Aesthetic, and an instantly recognizable classic for this locality. Formerly in the collection of Godehard Schwethelm.
