Artefact of the Week 2021 - 29. Powder Horn — Albert County Museum & RB Bennett Centre

By A Mystery Man Writer

A powder horn was a container for gunpowder, and was generally created from cow, ox, or buffalo horn. This horn was used to carry gunpowder for flintlock and percussion cap muskets and rifles by soldiers and hunters in New Brunswick during the 18th and 19th century.

The Albert County Museum tells the story of the People of the Tides at Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick. The RB Bennett Commemorative Center showcases the life of Richard Bedford Bennett, 11th Prime Minister of Canada. The museum is minutes from the world famous HOPEWELL ROCKS.
