Ray Cochrane beauty school – brief history Founded in 1954 by the late Mrs Ray Cochrane, our school is the longest established Cidesco school in the Uk – and possibly internationally. Mrs Ray Cochrane was herself a pioneer in the beauty profession and was instrumental in founding the Society of Applied Cosmetology to represent Cidesco in the UK. Mrs Cochrane realised the profession’s need of a sound educational base and provided that through the Ray Cochrane Beauty School. Throughout the years, the school has constantly challenged its students to reach a higher level of expertise. We have continued to learn and grow alongside our students. Today, the school is not only proud to be recognised as the first CIDESCO school in Great Britain but excited in the knowledge that we have established ourselves as the most reputable beauty therapy training institution in the world. The school is under the creative and caring supervision of the principal Ms Baljeet Suri. Miss Suri’s commitment to Health and Beauty training over the past 30 years has been demonstrated by her role for CIDESCO International as an examiner (since 1982) and as Vice President from 1996 to 2004. Miss Suri has been awarded the CIDESCO International Medal of Honour in acknowledgement of her dedication to the health and beauty profession. The school has held over 100 successful CIDESCO international examinations. Building on Miss Suri’s experience the school maintains its well established reputation for producing students of the very highest caliber. The majority of students achieve credits and honours and are in high demand for positions at the best spas and salons in London, the UK and internationally.
